Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and hot sauce (if using).
Brush one side of each slice of sourdough bread with the melted butter.
Spread the mayonnaise mixture evenly over the buttered side of one slice of bread.
Layer the tomato slices, cheddar cheese, and crumbled turkey bacon on top of the mayonnaise.
Season the tomato and cheese with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing up.
